My Chain of Thoughts When High

Twitter to MTG to Elon Musk to Grimes to Cosplay to Humanity.

This is going to be a weird long story. An example of my chain of thoughts, when I get high. This topics and thoughts on them always ruminate in my brain. I think on these things, constantly. My brain will not shut up about how to spread the meaning of Humanity, as I see it. As Yuval Noah Harari sees it. The way I believe Elon Musk sees it. That the meaning of life is humanity, and if you give people a chance, they might surprise you.

It’s what my business idea of the Foundation is about. Empathy. Humanity.

It’s what smoking weed in the morning gets my brain to think about in rather rapid change of topics. That I somehow always have to analyze. By thinking on them.

How it started, was on Twitter.
As usual, I love to debate. Love it even more to learn something, which happens a lot, when you talk with someone you disagree with. Sadly, these days the lesson has almost always been the same. I do not trust their source of news they are getting.
I have never, and will never trust Fox News. But I stopped trusting news in general, 30 years ago, in Denmark. I even wrote an article about Fake News, and how it’s not always lies. It is often just bad reporting and deceit, misdirects, by the people that control that media. And in America, the rich control ALL the main stream media. And it all started with Fox News.¹
No, you have to trust true reporters. Like you have to trust real scientists. We might get it wrong, like apparently we got the Big Bang theory wrong. Which is nice to me, since my book in based on a whole other way the multiverse began … and here my brain goes of a tangent again.
Back to Twitter. Today, it was about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

I can’t stress it enough. I really don’t care about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Until there is a reason to care. I trust the FBI and DOJ far more than I trust the Supreme Court. Bad example, I have zero faith in the Supreme Court. That is my rock bottom of faith in our system. Nope, sorry, that would be Ted Cruz. Then the Supreme Court. But I do NOT trust the media.
Which is sadly what it often boils down to these days. On Twitter at least.

I really freaking LOVE when they use the “media” for their arguments. “But they told us”. Though as soon as the media say something they don’t like, it’s “Fake News”. Yet none of them use any arguments, besides what they hear from the media. They put their trust in Tucker Carlson. In Sean Hannity. In Fox News. In CNN.
These days RNC on twitter will not shut up on their Twitter account, using clips from MSNBC and CNN. And when I look into it. Their reporting is terrible, so no wonder they love it. It’s fake news.

To me though. It’s simple. I don’t care about the laptop, unless there is a reason to care. I don’t care if Hunter Biden is with prostitutes, I don’t mind prostitution, unless it’s forced or abused. I want America to be like Holland, and decriminalize it.
I don’t care if he is using drugs. Again, be like Holland.
I don’t care that the Trump family is. It’s not something I care about. If they have a problem with it, I want them to be able to get help for it. Again, be like Holland or Portugal or Oregon:

I mean, come on America. We can learn from those that are doing better than us. And while no state is perfect. So is no country perfect. Holland have their problems. Portugal have there’s. But look at German Prisons and realize, their problems are not exactly the same as we are having. Our prisons are cruel and inhumane. Theirs work.²

But then I got high. I laid off Twitter, while still thinking on it. And played some MTG Online. And then I started on the thoughts I had on this game, and why, after so long it still have this appeal. But because in so many ways, it is corporate greed shining through again.

To anyone that don’t know what MTG is. Your loss or gain. Many like it, most don’t. I do, because I am drawn to a lot from it. The art, always get me, and they know. But that’s is actually great. That part of capitalism I am all for. They hire and pay for a lot of art, and art is the only reason to be alive for. Without it, who would want to live.
But those that play the game. Know it’s appeal on strategy, and using each card, each turn, each play wisely. That is the appeal. Those moments when the magic happens, and each card is just the right one, to keep staying in the game long enough to turn the table, and win. Or the deck we make to rush and crush the opponent, before they get their own deck going. Preferably in round one.

But we all also know. The balance of the cards are greatly out of proportions. So much, that it is by design.

To play the game at the highest level, you need to not only be great at the game. Like I am. You have to study it, and play it like it is a possession. And these cards can get expensive. And so many cards these days, are game changing in and off themselves. So much, they ruin the game to me.

The pull of the game, is that it stimulates my mind. I like to win, with what I have. But I am not possessed by the game, and I know, with certainty, there are not only people smarter than me. There are many as smart as me, and they study. So they will always, be better than me.
I am perfectly fine with that. As to me, it’s a game.

But when there now are so many single cards that can turn the game. Then, the game is out of balance. And it will do like Blizzard Immortal and all those other games that are designed for people, with the mentality of having to win. To the people that smash their computers when they loose. Those that throw a TV out of the window, when their team loose.
Those people will invest so much. Many are great, just like most streamers are great players. But they are all the target for these corporations, that keep investing into “better” ways to get more money, and they explain it off to themselves as “we deliver what the people love, they love our products”.

I know. And I do. Which is why I wrote an article³. The entertainment world won Capitalism. Now they are leading us straight to fascism.

The problem with MTG now is that so many cards win the game. So you need them all, or at least know them all, and have a defense against them. Especially in the meta of the game. Among professionals. People likely all smarter than me, but with certainty are better in the game than me. They constantly think of new decks, new ways to win. Which always means, they have all the cards. They always do.

Therein lies my problem. There has always been very strong cards. They used to ban Moxes and cards like Demonic Tutor.

Now, they have so many cards I think should not only be banned. But should never had been made in the first place. These cards throw the balance of the game off too much.
But they will always have their typical defense: It can be countered, or there is always an answer.
All which is true. But the fact too many cards are unproportionally powerful ruins the game. Some works that way in drafts or sealed tournaments, but many work in the constructed format. Cards today like

The card in itself is amazingly powerful. But the Indestructible…
The blue counter part is the same. Then comes the Planes Walker cards, which are fun, and terrible. Or creatures that ruin the mana balance which is instrumental for the game’s strategic integrity. It’s not there anymore.

I’ll write longer version of cards, and why I have a big issue on their balance. But the list is too long for now.

So while my mind was razing on the stupidity of the games broken cards (conceded two that had Heliod in a row), and won some amazing fights, where I had to use each card wisely. Block right, to kill one, so both dies from the loss of the +1/+1 and so on. The kind of games I love.

After I was done with my matches I thought of why I both love and dislike the game. Greed ruins it. They know how to do better balance, they just decide not too. As it would likely sell less. But I beg to differ. The game is quite unique, and the greatness does not come from winning with one card, but by designing the deck and then play each card well.

Which naturally brought me to think of how dope Elon Musk is. I had also just read on Twitter, that his factory in Texas is going to have a paradise like park and it will be open to the public.
Like seriously. Why can’t the world have more billionaires like Elon Musk. And I will never forget, he is only a billionaire because of the stock market. The stock market is the problem in the system, not Elon Musk.
No wonder someone like Grimes, who has the most badass rumor I have ever heard “that she threw a snowball at the queen.” I mean, even if she didn’t it’s a great rumor to have. And if she did. She just might be my new hero. But what Elon Musk has already done for humanity in my book, is enough for me to admire him. Flaws and all. Because I have really no doubt, that he is a good man. What he says and what he do, proves it. And what other say about him. Verify that.

I remember seeing a Twitter from Elon with Grimes in some Cosplay. And that reminded me of how much I absolutely love art. When they keep saying, there is not going to be enough work in the future. I kinda laugh. I mean, have they met humanity?

One man. Who was up in his age already. Had a job that paid the bills already. Started to write. He entered a contest, and won 3rd place. Then he wrote more, and over time, as with anything great. His following grew. Then he became the most know writer in all of Poland. The Eastern Europe. Europe. Then the world was blown away by games, that was made based on the stories by this one man. His talent inspired them, to produce what I still consider the greatest game of all times … so far. And I know, many in the industry agrees. It was not perfect. It had many flaws, but the sum of all that was great. Made it the greatest. Witcher took the world by storm. Soon it was everywhere. Streamers and gamers made careers on Witcher content. Singers and artist made a career start on the inspiration they got from the games. TV shows were made, and is again being made. One mans imagination inspired and started countless of people’s careers. And it is because of imagination like that, that we will always do better. People like Elon Musk, who has the mind and the means, can change the world. It is just sad we designed a system where the Zuckerberg’s and Bezos’s rise to power. While too rarely will we see someone that actually has a family and friends that love them, come to have those means.

And no, Elon Musk is not always right. Nor do I think he is. He is just the right kind of right, we need. Mostly right.

But one thing that is very often overlooked by the public at large, is Cosplay. Sure in recent years it is everywhere. But it took fans to make it a thing. And these games have a LOT of fans.
I have always loved costumes and masks. From Halloween like events in Denmark, to Carnivals in Brazil and Masquerades throughout time. Fascinating how we love to hide behind a mask. Like a shield, to allow us to be more ourself. To be free to act like someone else. Flirty, naughty, funny, wise, whatever people wanted to could and can act out. Cosplay is however done by fans, and do they take their craft seriously. Wow. I love it. More creativity spreading to the people. More to be a fan off. More to love.

And that brings me to the same conclusion I always come to. The thing I love about humanity, is our diversity.

I have never dressed up like they do in cosplay. But I did a pirate for Halloween, and it was a great day. I love people that do though. And I admire their talents. It is not one of mine, and it never will be. Because will I admire the outcome, I am not a fan of the process,

Elon Musk is not so successful because of himself only. He is the focal point. But it is the people he gets to work with him that are the creators of his dreams. And they should be our dreams. They are mine. I want a better future with free energy, UBI, Universal Healthcare, where people work if they want to work. Where we have robotics for work, no one really want to work. I want that future Elon Musk envision and is doing something for us to have. But we all know. Not all have that vision. Worse, some don't want it, as it would ruin the way they currently are making money. So instead off re-invent themselves. They continue to make the same mistakes over and over. The halt progress for their own benefits. They try to control the world, instead of follow it into a better future.
Amazon is amazing. But Bezos did not make the world better. In fact, we are worse of because of Amazon. The luxury and comfort of ordering online, does not make up for the horrific working conditions, the increased accidents in traffic, the obscene level of stress to meet a quota. There is no justification for how Amazon started and is run. It’s success is only based on, it was something we really wanted. But the cost to me, is too high.

I do not buy from Amazon. But I want to play New World, because when it comes to entertainment. Corporations won.

Which brings me to my last two tweets.

One for Melania Trump, which is odd to see today. As it was literally my first article on Medium:

Things are not well for me. I really should go to the doctor, and see if I have worms of cancer or whatever else is going on. Would be ironic to have my latest article, be my last, and I end it with my first story on Medium.

That is my brain on weed. Was not a long chain of thoughts, but took a long time to write. Now I’ll go back to play Elder Scrolls, wish I had any money to buy ESO+, but EDD sucks in CA. So I am stuck here. Should get to a doctor. And can’t play a game as I would like to. Heck, can hardly finish and article without having issues. Three months, still waiting on an appeal, and was cut off based on misinformation.

The meaning of life is humanity. And humanity is diversity.
