Lesson Learnt

I have had the immense privilege of “knowing” the finest women from the closest quarters. But almost all of them are light-years away today and sadly i helped them all walk away and find their rightful spot in a distant galaxy. This cold truth slices through my conscience like a new, shiny, unnecessarily sharp kitchen knife. The familiar troika of regret , shame and helplessness overpower me,forcing me to surrender to nostalgia. Oh yes, nostalgia has been the bane of my adult existence..cawing away in the background like a big, black, unforgiving raven. How can i embrace the present when faced with such crippling circumstances? I cant. Do I want to scale the mountain of guilt and smile sheepishly from the peak? Yes, I do. Can i pull it off only and only if i learn from my past follies? Yes. Can i walk alone on the path to redemption? No. And so the search begins again for a fine woman..and this time.. i hope i will have the immense privilege of “cherishing” her from the closest quarters.
