Life In a Day

The Life In a Day film was a very interesting and unique kind of film. It’s heavily critisized for being disorganized but those critics are missing the point. The main purpose of the film is to show you the diversity that exists among humans throughout the world. It does this in a series of random videos which come together in an unusual way, its different than your typical documentary on Netflix.

The big montage shows happiness, birth, sadness, excitement, and important parts of peoples daily lives. It allows the viewer to dive into a life of a man in Afghanistan and then transporting into the life of a little boy cleaning shoes for money across the world. The videos display raw, unedited real footage that may be of little worth to Hollywood, but is of high value to humanity.

The film helped me connect and remember similar values that I grew up with in my younger years living in El Salvador. My morning routine consisted of waking up early at dusk and helping my grandfather herd the cattle. My mornings were similar to some of those in the video so it was nice to reflect on that. The video is indeed an eye opener for anyone who thinks all humans live a standard way or the same way across the world.
