Why Do Rich People Wear Torn Clothes?

My 8-year-old son kind of looks like a celebrity these days. Most of his pants are ripped at the knee. But it’s not because he thinks it’s haute couture. It’s because he’s a kid and can’t sit still.

I remember being in school and getting scolded by my mom or teachers if a button was missing or a stain was on my clothes. If my mom saw this new trend she would seriously think these celebs have lost their marbles!

A fashion trend occurs when others mimic or emulate a clothing style. Social Media further helps the fashion epidemic spread like wildfire.

But, I really don’t understand how the trend of torn, ripped clothes ever had a spark to begin with.

They give it a fancy name- ‘Vintage Clothing’. Isn’t it just damaged clothing?

Did a designer walk by a row of homeless people and say “Wow, those holes add such character to the clothes?”

Did they run out of money for real fabric and have to raid a thrift shop for their Summer collection?

Were they impacted by ‘ Global Warming’ and felt clothes needed multiples rips and holes to let the air in?

My guess is that they wanted to prank the celebrities and see if they would fall for it.

Apparently, all of them did! No one wanted to be left out of the “ Best Dressed Torn Clothes” list.

You would think torn, stained, old clothes would be cheap. Think again!

Say what??

Kids, listen up. I found a way for you to pay for college. From now on save your old shoes and clothes, feed it to the dogs, run them over with a car and then sell it on eBay.
